Matrika Moons
We will begin our monthly moon journey with Durga and Her
Mandala of 8 Matrikas on January 24, 2020 at 5:00 pm Pacific
Time. Each month we will work with one of the 8 Matrikas and
complete our New Moon Maa journey with Kali in December.
The Matrikas are the Shaktis of Goddess Durga and a powerful
Collective of 8 Goddesses. The Matrikas are guardians of
thresholds of consciousness. Birth, death, pregnancy, menstruation,
sex, illness, and all altered states are their domain. The Matrikas
help us transform different emotional and mental states. They
illuminate our power within and show us the many resources we
have to face any internal or external challenge.
The 8 Matrikas are protectors of sacred space and govern the 4
cardinal directions and the intermediary points. Together they form
a sacred Mandala. The Matrikas take us beyond our limited
perceptions and help us navigate different states of Consciousness.
The Matrikas take us through and out of our emotional reactivity
and transform afflicted emotional and mental states. They also help
us to cross into deeper/higher states of Consciousness.
Working with this collective of Durga naturally aligns and attunes
us with the various cycles of existence to create more equilibrium
and harmony within and without.
The Astha Matrikas each correspond to one of the eight pairs of
vowels in the Sanskrit Alphabet. Practices and teachings will also
focus on this emanation of their Shakti.
Protection, physical, mental and emotional healing, spiritual
transformation and empowerment are some of the blessings they
offer.

will be other ritual offerings at this time. July 20: Varahi

Puja—no New Moon ritual, but you can join other Durga Puja

Offering: $400 ($200 each Mandala) or $350 if pay in full
before January 10, 2020.

If you have received the Astha Matrika teachings in the Chandi
Seminars, please know this series will offer some new practices
and mantras to work with.
Zoom Participation
Students are encouraged to attend live whenever possible.
Your Shakti will enhance the teachings and experience.
However, it is also not necessary to be live, especially if your
time zone or schedule does not permit it! You are welcome to
join from the recordings.
Recordings will be sent within 24 hours of the class.
Any printed practices will be sent between 24-48 hours before
the class begins.
A Zoom reminder and link will go out on the morning of the
class.
SLACK
A Matrika Moons Slack Channel (Group) will be available for
practitioners to share their experiences and ask questions
between sessions. SLACK is a private Social Media platform
Laura uses with her kula. A SLACK invite will be sent to you
before the course begins. A Yogini attendant email for Jessica
will also be sent to you in case you need technical support with
SLACK.
